In 2022, the S&P was down 18.1%. The Dow was only down 9%. Why was that? Well, because you have more value-oriented stocks in the Dow. In 2023, we're likely to start the year in a recession. But just about everybody who is in denial of the 2022 recession expects a recession in 2023,. Yet they still expect the stock market to do well.
