The Magna Carta and the Pope
The Magna Carta was signed by King John 1st of England in 1215. Pope Innocent declared the charter void and that it was a subject of excommunication. The king's grandson Edward III, who did one of the very prominent reiterations or reiterations of MagnaCarta in 1297, is next on the panel.
