Community networks are the building blocks of how we might deprivatize the pipes that thei places, where social needs like universal connectivity are prioritized over enriching shareholders. The first is to use various public policy tools to encircle online malls and shrink their footprint with an eye towards their abolition. We need to embody it in brick and mortar spaces where people can come together and actually build the internet they want.
