The church was divided into those who felt that Vincent especially had acted abominably and that, wittingly or not caused this to happen. The evangelical and charismatic communities saw it quite differently. They would say, well, the Reverend did his best, but here was a man who was possessed. And so I guess the highest charge that could be leveled at the pit of Vincent is one of the careless, forgetfulness, carelessness; he just didn't finish the job.
