William Tindale - A Great Writer

William tindale was a great writer who coined many common phrases and terms that have survived the centuries. His translation often showed a preference for old english words, but he also used french and latin lone words. He knew that his translation would be read by people throughout england, but just as importantly, he thought it would one day be read from the pulpits as well. For example, whereas wickliffe had stuck close to the latin vulgate bible and had used the lone word desert in several passages, tindale replaced desert with the native english word wilderness.
