The snow generators operate at or below the freezing point. What you're compensating for is the fact it hasn't rained and so what you're really doing is relying on evaporation effects. The amounts of water that you need to produce the artificial snow are absolutely gigantic. It requires literally millions and millions of cubic meters of water to create them.
