Love, Pain, Grief, and Joy: Vol. 5, Letters to Malcolm by C.S. Lewis
Wade Center
What Are Festoonings?
Lewis talks about festoonings in his letters to Malcolm. Festoonings are things that he adds to his prayer, whether it's an opening or a thing from scripture itself. They give you a lot of different words to think about rather than just the one word that was in the text. When I say thy will be done, it's not just God's gonna do it, but I'm an agent and I have to do his will by me now.
