Is It a Smart Connector on the Top and Bottom of the iPad Pro?

Mactacara is reporting from supply change sources that the new ipad pro would featurey full pin connecta on the top and bottom edges. My fourpin connector reads to me like they want to do this might be a new apple pencil, or it might be the same apple pencil in a new location. We're going to need more information here, but it feels like this is accessory base, and that this is probably smart connector in some way.
