The Variability of Red Dwarfs
If you have a lot of spin, you might be able to avoid it. But more of these planets would be tidally locked. Earth-like planets around a yellow dwarf could complicate the evolution of life. Red dwarfs can sometimes vary dramatically in their brightness. A flare star is something that can be like two or five or hundred times as bright as it normally is and then sort of calm back down.
