Let the Material Speak for Itself
It started as a side project for me. This was way before the invasion of Ukraine. I just wanted to do a thing which showed people what we had recorded, and it seemed to me completely wrong that I should put my voice over it. So I just thought I'd let it speak for itself. It's because this material was so extraordinary, so rich that it seemed wrong, inappropriate, to slap my voice overit. What I was actually seeing in this was thousands of hours recording fragmentary moments from all over Russia.
