Matthews: Jesus suffered all manner of temptations, yet he gave no heed unto them. He instantly quoted scripture to them and overcame them. Unlike some of us, he did not fantasize, reconsider, or replay temptations. Dalliance to dilly-dally to delay, to replay and rationalize turns things upside down. And the next thing you know, the temptation's stronger than us.
