How Birds, Whales and Other Migratory Animals Communicate to Young Generations

There's a lot we don't really know about migration in general, but alone how animals communicate to their littlelings throughout it. In many species, the young just follow along, but others simply know where to go without ever having done it before and without following a flock or anything. Like cuckoos, for example, the parents don't communicate in any way. Some animals too, it's more instinctual and then for others it's more of a learned behavior.
