How to Visualize Your Day

I took a continuing education class with this really great makeup artist and he was talking about how he has this way of sort of visualizing how the day is going to go. I said okay before I go on this job even though I'm scared it's the first time I've ever worked with this producer or I'm working with a famous person  how do I keep my you know calm? He gave me his advice which was I sort of picture what the day is gonna be like and say like this is my day to try my hardest that's the most important thing.
