Adrian: The modern left has two very different objections to meritocracy. One is that all skills and abilities are socially constructed, so if they're unevenly distributed, it must be the result of an uneven distribution of opportunities in society. Another argument is that people inherit def different abilities because of genetics, and therefore, they have no moral claim to the outcome of ther ther genetic advantages.
