The Blackfeet's Rights in National Parks

When the Blackfeet signed away their land in 1895 they took a lot of pains to ensure they kept certain rights on it. But when Glacier National Park was established in 1910 most of those rights were revoked. The government said that National Park rules superseded the terms of the treaty and you can't hunt or gather in national parks. And so the federal government and the tribe have been arguing about this ever since.
