The librettists were Victor Leon and Leo Stein, but this play was not conceived of by them. Pontovetria doesn't exist, it's an imaginary state somewhere in the Balkans. It is a fancy embassy in Paris, in glittering Paris, so it's going to be a glittering party,. So we open and it's lovely. And shall we hear the people having a glorious time at this party at the embassy? Love you.
