Dennis Hixstein is a physician scientist at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He's been involved with GATA2 deficiency syndrome since 2009 and has transplanted over 90 of these patients. The implications clinically are really immense frequently these patients come to transplant either because of their mildness plastic syndrome which turns into leukemia or because of severe life threatening mycobacterium infections.
