The Onondaga Is a Centrally Important Tribe in This Confederation

The hiawatha belt was made in recognition of the new law, and it was then deposited with the onondaga as eternal keepers of this pact. Four of the five are shown with square shapes, which i think represents solidity, security. The white is said to represent purity o intention, rihte that they have put aside malice and resentment and joined together with purity of intention. So there's a clever kind of double meaning, double resonance to the form.
