The Dance Plague
The dancing plague, which is also a lesser known abbasong, had lasted over a month. Swiss doctor Paraclesius suggested that Frau Trofea started dancing just to piss off her husband. Another cause floated by historians was that the dancers in Strasbourg were poisoned by Ergot. In his book A Time to Dance, A Time To Die, historian John Waller argues that Ergot also causes extreme blood flow restriction to the extremities.
