Adding Turbines to Dams Is a Big Mistake
Mark C. Jacobson, a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, published an energy model in which he assumed you could add unlimited numbers of turbines to America's dams. He sued one of the authors of the paper for damages demanding retraction and punitive damages. The fight got vicious; it permanently damaged Jacobson's reputation but also changed the terms of the debate on renewable energy.
