The Evolution of Statistics
The evolution of statistics toward answering what ultimately were applied research questions about how variables relate to each other. That's a key thing that's going to come up today is they were very experimental. As are we here at Woodstock, dude. And everything was focused on what is the P value? What is the probability that I would have observed my data this extreme or more so if the null hypothesis is true? Pearson, Fisher, Gossett, Neiman, Pearson too. The idea that our observations are a function of some underlying truth, as well as some other things that induce error.
