The French Army Against the English on Horseback

The french army was preparing itself to head up the road to fight the english. On top of their undergarments, they wore a padded garment called a gambison which helped to absorb the shock of incoming. A belt went round his waist with a sword and dagger hanging down. It was already stifling and humid in the early morning sun. The knights around him surged forward. He saw one of the lord of cuse's knights spit a fleeing genoese on the end of his lance. There was a sickening crash, a sound like nothing jean had ever heard, as the french knights slammed into the english line.
