The Virtue of Hope in the Greco-Roman World
Hope is an emotion, it's a mindset, it's about action. Is it a virtue? Here we start it gets a little bit tricky. The Stoics of course didn't like hope because of its emotional component. Now when Paul the Apostle Paul writes about hope and of course he does a lot including the famous faith, hope and love he actually never uses the word virtue.
