The Early English Caribbean and the Rhetoric of Race and Climate

In the early 17th century and in these kind of English controlled sort of controlled islands, most of the labor force was composed of people from the British Isles. There are some African laborers there, but they're not the majority. And then later, and maybe we'll get into this later, but then later you have planters denying that this would ever even be possible.
