The Importance of Being Straight Talking
Rick Godwin was an impressive figure because he was... I mean, like, you know, just picture the patriarchy and you've got it. A older, white gentleman with a stern voice who's not afraid to tell it like it is. And in so many ways what I aspire to be one of those straight-talking, tell-it-like-it-is people. But my personality has always been incredibly impish and a bit silly. It just boggles my mind that I tried for so long to kind of wear that jacket of being an authoritative person that others would take seriously.
