This film came out the year I went to college and I very distinctly remember having conversations with friends, one conversation in particular with Ken Woods about this film. And I remember thinking, Oh, that sounds interesting. And then I never watched it. But I was struck. If you've ever read that book by David Mamet, which is called on directing film, he has a very strict idea of what constitutes good storytelling in film. It doesn't have to do with having a camera follow a main character around like a faithful dog.
