To be good to be very good at anything, it helps to be a little weird. That's where your gift lies. And also to know that with your gift, there is the disfigurement of the gift. When you look at your kids, your relatives, your spouse, they're all strange in their own way. You need to take advantage of those things because they're probably most talented too. It requires self-compassion about our flaws and failings but also compassion for others' gifts.
