Curtis: I grew up in the potent. post civil rights era, and a concept that was utterly alien to me was a concept of systemic racism. What i was taught was to abhor being, to not be racist, as me, as david french. It was a highly individualized sort of theology of dealing with racism. But is it true that what's in my heart really matters? Yes, 100%. Is it also true that institutions have obligations to correct injustices? Yes. Oke. Why was i taught one and not the other?
