The Intense Capacity of Language
Chomsky says language is more useful for thinking, not than communicating. Why do you need stretches of sound for every concept? If it was all going on in one in the head, you wouldn't need that. It would be a massive coincidence if an inherent part of language was getting it out of the head in an acoustic signal when other people just happen to be able to hear.
