In 18 81, a german genacologist named karl sigmund franz crede started dropping a diluted solution of silver nitrate into newborn baby's eyeballs at birth to prevent contraction of goneria from their mother. Dentists sometimes use silver nitrate on oral ulcers. Pediatrists use it to kill warts. Doctors can use it to cauterize blood vessels in the nose to help prevent chronic nose bleeds. Some bandages have silver in them to prevent infection. And that surge in nano silver in products has made a lot of people worry about whether or not ingesting these silver nano particles is a good idea.
