Rock Mononoff's Third Piano Concerto
Rock Mononoff was an extremely successful composer by the time he wrote his third piano concerto in 1909. In 1897, the fast-rising star of both the piano and composition gave the premiere of his first symphony. The piece was received so poorly that to this day, despite it being a really wonderful piece, it's almost never performed. We'll talk about the background of this concerto and its construction, showing off many of Rock Mononoff's innovations.
