How to Improve Language Skills

I literally did I had a year 12 bonager group and I sat at parents evening saying to each of them in front of their parents what do you need to do to improve next year. One girl who said well what I've noticed is that I get all the short answer questions nearly all right but the three and four mark questions I don't write enough statements to get the marks so she went away having discussed this at parents evening and did every single past exam paper every 3 and four mark question on all of them and got an A style rather than an eye.
