In Israel, there really is just one check on the power of the governing coalition. The only institution that can prevent this anti-democratic bill from becoming law is the Supreme Court. If the government succeeds in neutralizing the Supreme Court, it means there is no other check on its power. This is a deliberate policy of the government to incite hatred between different parts of the Israeli public. It's not impossible to imagine a civil war," he says.
