The Discipleship Motive in Acts

Paul and Stephen are the main figures in this discipleship motif model. Dr Gaffin: Both experience, and replicate the life experience of Christ. He says there's a fascinating sense in which both experiences mirror each other. The church is empowered to bear witness to their God as they yield up their own lives for Jesus' sake - just like Paul fell asleep on his knees when he was stoned.
