Is the Historical Critical Method a Good Method?

I want to ask your opinion about we've been talking about the historical critical method. There's a lot of can offer to us once we look at it with critical lenses, right? Why is, why in Genesis one, do we have Elohim and in Genesis two,. we have Yahweh, Elohim, right? Some of the historical critics notice something that others didn't. I wouldn't subscribe to the the breaking up of the text into the iOS, the AloS and so on.
