The Question of the Pharisees
Jesus is in Jerusalem and now he's going to be tested by these leaders who have rejected him. In many ways, the parable is foreshadowing their rejection. The Pharisees are trying to entangle him in his own words reread. And it's a test to ensnare our Lord and to bring him down.
