How to Start a Side Project

There's loads of listeners out there that have pretty awesome side projects, but little to no traction. What advice could you give someone to get that initial traction and just start the ball rolling? Just tweet to me and I'll tweet about it. So I think writing about what you're doing is really important. And getting your friends to talk about it and share it as well is probably a good idea.
