Monoculture vs Conventional Farming
Conventional farming, as is, is all about monocultures. And so we've created this situation where we have the single type of plant over over vast areas. As soon as you do that, you've created something which never exists in the natural world. You have to prop it up, because all the biological processes don't function any more. In a conventional setting, its on average, about a barrel and a half of oil base products per hector.
