How to Proceed When a Dog Shoots a Cannon

The downside of having lovely wild places where my dogs can comfortably romp off leash is that at least here in Oregon, these locations can be the same areas where people are shooting guns. Do you have suggestions for how to proceed when a decompression hike location has been quote unquote poisoned?
