The Purity Culture

A big part of the type of christianity that i was brought up in was centered around what's now called purity culture. And so girls have to be essentially thought police, not only for ourselves and each other, but for the men around us. So basically, we were told the lip service of men, you need to be responsible for your own thoughts and actions. But girls, you it is your responsibility to help support your brothers in christ, making sure you are modest at all times with every deed, word and action. Yes. There's a lot of that that gets stunted when you grow up in this sort of sort of thing.
