Tolstoy was a fan of Trollop, a icon test that he would have read Jane Austen. The book starts with an epigraph from a biblical epigraph but he hasn't assigned what part the Bible is from. That's beyond the remit of the podcast and we go deep into it in one of the first lectures over at the book club. But the epigraph is this, vengeance is mine. I will repay.
