The Government Does Not Need to Tax

The government has the capacity to spend because there is this underlying productive economy. If you didn't have this underlying large, diverse, productive economy that was generating value, the government wouldn't have capacity to spend. In a sense, we are all financing the government's spending through the underlying productive capacity of the economy.
