The Importance of Time

When einstein was doing relativity he came up with this sort of the the train travel metaphor yeah he used trains and the absence of trains that might not have actually been a way for him to think about it. Well i mean wells was living in in victorian england and you could ride a train and look out the window and see a farmer with a a plow behind an oxen 400 years earlier. You're going zipping past on a steam engine and you can see telegraph wires across the landscape  and I think that's something that had to have affected both wells and einstein and all the rest of them.
