Creating Units for Renters, Is That the Thing?
The mayor's amendment to the purpose built rental programme has had a significant impact on housing supply in Vancouver. The first project that i spoke to and advocated for, which was making it possible to build the exact same type of buildings, is effectively dead in the water. We may get 400 units of housing over the course of the next five years, but that's a drop in the bucket compared to the 14 thousand, 500 that we need every single year just to keep pace with the under housed in the city. Do you think we'd be better off just as little regulation as possible? Build whatever you want, build it however you want,. Just the idea that more supply hits the market will help
