There is this pressure to be less than transparent about the things that are not perfect in your lives. If people had sandwich boards and said, these are my struggles, it would immediately trigger at least the capaity, the possibility of ampathy and understanding. You know, as i know you do, in terms of our art political culture,. we turn everybody into abstractions.
