The Day of Atonement

The sacrificial system was a means of purifying worshippers so that they could enter sacred space, and offering kind of responses to god. The day of atonement may be another one, because it deals with israel's abominations, which includes acts like violence. So bringing an animal to say thank you to god is a way of giving a gift to god. There are different theories, like circumcision te um. And i am sure this is going to be very generative for future studies.
