What Is the Dominant System of Scholasticism?

The dominant system which he would have imbibed was scholasticism. This was a fusion of the ideas of aristotle, based on aristotelian principles. But descartes thought that actually, that wasn't really very valuable as an explanation. And so he started to react against the qualitative views of the scholastics.
