"I wouldn't say miserable experience. I actually enjoyed pilot training, but it was a lot of work," he says. "When you went to new fighter squadron, you walked in and instantaneously you have 20 or 30 brand new best friends" He adds: "It definitely makes for the tough times ... having that community definitely helps pull everyone together"
