The Signs of an Adult Occurrence in Born Error Metabolism
Onsets that range from childhood to include adulthood are often associated with intermittent illnesses. The signs are extremely nonspecific such as poor muscle tone, respiratory distress, poor suckling reflex and seizures. Major red flags would be a sibling having previously died in infancy or an infant relentlessly deteriorating despite treatment with no explanation.
