Arminius's Opposition to Religious Conflict
Arminius was not disciplined by his consistry, that is, the ministers and the elders of his congregation. Nor was he disciplined by classes amsterdam. And probably because he had the protection of some influential people in amsterdam. A many of the civil magistrates in the netherlands had been influenced by less than protestant ideas. They wanted christians to love jesus, but they tended to be indifferent when it came to a doctrine.
